Resco Another Dive

Resco Patriot Diver

Resco Patriot DiverI guess I am not as enchanted as most with the preference of what a real Navy Seal supposedly wears on the job. This Resco diver from Coronado, Ca is a Slava based watch that borrows the lead from Kobold watches (borrowing color schemes too?) and others in the Navy Seal game. Their site states their is no official Navy Seal watch ( although Luminox always plugs that). Either way, I just thought the timepiece lacked vision. Big, bulky and not especially finished well at first sight.

The Resco Patriot is a Watch-U-Seek special banner blowout watch, pushing the Gung-Ho angle. Note: You’re not an ounce less of an American if you don’t buy into these “special ops” timepieces, you just a have better taste.

The brand offers three ultra-military teasers that get the job done for the mid-range sale. You may be better suited to get a watch that holds up to a weekend car wash and save a grand or two. Nothing special in the movement area or case for that matter. Just a big blob of a water-resistant watch with the Navy Seal pitch. Maybe later models will please me, but I’ll pass on this one.

Shown above is the Resco Patriot reference RDP09S-BL for $1,600 USD.

Quick Specs:

  • Slava caliber 2427 movement (Swiss model also available)
  • 42mm stainless steel case (PVD also available)
  • Anti-reflective sapphire crystal
  • 120 click unidirectional bezel
  • Anti-magnetic and shock resistant
  • Water resistant to 200 m or 660 ft

  1. Was excited about this. Though of it as a poor man’s Kobold Arctic Diver. Then I saw lots of complaints about issues with crown and movement. Maybe it’s better to spend the extra few dollars on the AD.
