A quick review of the Montblanc Summit – yes, they ditched the smart strap and went all in on an entire smart watch! First impression of the piece is a very simple, I like it. I’m surprised at the packaging, quality in charging cable, the charging dock… it’s the little things. Maybe this stroll into high-end tech won’t be so bad after all. If you are familiar with Android wear this won’t be a tough watch to charge and go right out of the box. A few tidbits about the watch below.

With the includes out of the way let’s get to the watch. At 46mm it wears fine. The display is crisp and easy to see at all positions of the wrist. The model pictured is on a calf skin strap with quick release springbars. The setup really makes sense for the tech-upperclass. The crown is a cross between an old-school onion crown and a tech pusher (it works), steel to black in color and nice. The tang buckle is signed Montblanc. The Summit’s case and lugs are brushed out and the black bezel outlines the sapphire crystal nicely, finishing off a good tech offering from the folks at Montblanc. Smart move to pull the smart strap off the shelves and replace it with a luxury smart timepiece like the Summit. $890.00 retail.
