Largest Rolex Watch Dealers on the Net?

Are the So-Called Largest Rolex Dealers on the Net All Smoke and Mirrors?

Are the So-Called Largest Rolex Dealers on the Net All Smoke and Mirrors?Funny how so many watch sites claim to be the “largest” Rolex dealers on the internet. Either they are all the same company or they all share the same ability to exaggerate. Anyone can be the largest dealer on the net if they are posting stock pics and recycling pics of sold watches.

Bottom line, stay away from site that make exaggerated claims like this. If they’re exaggerating their size, chances are they’re exaggerating their promise to provide you with an excellent buying experience. Luxury watches are best served with a slice of humble pie.

The fact of the matter is there are very few dealers of Rolex product on the internet that are worth their weight. I can think of four, ok three that actually might have what they say. It is a rarity that the product is represented properly, ie: actual photos, correct specs, etc.

Where do they get the goods?

Most online “Rolex” dealers have bought a closeout store and picked through the inventory for pieces. Much of it is aged and case worn with years on them without being purchased.

The deal of a lifetime is never what it seems, the same can be said of back door forum dealers. They are the same people representing themselves as friends of the forum and start racking the numbers up with a few uneducated buyers. “I got a D serial Datejust, new, box and papers with all the links and a year guarantee”. Translated, they have old stock from an out of business sale in Florida and it made its way to the forum with a quick polish job and a PayPal happy con-artist ready to get your five star rating under a fake name.

What about pre-owned?

If it’s a pre-owned watch seller that is fine, but lots of these scumbags never claim that. They describe there goods as “new” with box and papers. Don’t catch their pitch. No such thing as a new Rolex online.

If you want a truly new Rolex you’ll have to get it from an AD. There is no shame in the pre-owned game if the seller lays it all out to you. Check around and be mindful of the crown, it can bite ya.

  1. Considering the market for ‘old’ Rolex watches, this article is a bit disingenuous.

Perhaps its just me, but, if this is clearly stated in the sales material, I fail to see the downside in this:
“I got a D serial Datejust, new, box and papers with all the links and a year guarantee”.

After all, the client should perform their own due diligence in this matter.

    1. Disingenuous is a strong word. I took it as they say one thing but mean another. Meaning it’s not really “new” at all.
